An hour on the main stage
On Saturday 26 September 2026 Hazel was booked by Mighty Events to provide a one-hour Line Dancing session at Dubs int Dales, held at the Thorp Perrow Events Field near Bedale in North Yorkshire.
The session ran from 4pm to 5pm. This wasn't a small class tucked away in a side room: Hazel was on the main stage, facing a festival marquee that quickly filled with people joining in.

When the crowd gets bigger
Hazel teaches the dances from the front, breaking the steps down and then getting everybody moving together to the music. A festival crowd can include complete beginners alongside people who have danced before, so the aim is to make the session easy to follow, energetic and enjoyable from the start.

Using the festival sound system
Hazel always brings her own audio system, so she can provide a complete self-contained Line Dancing session wherever she is working. At Dubs int Dales there was already a much larger band PA on the main stage, so it made sense to use that instead.
Her headband radio microphone and iPod were connected to the festival system. That gave her the power and coverage needed for a large marquee while still allowing her to move freely on stage, demonstrate the steps and talk to the dancers at the same time.

“The whole tent was full”
After the event, Katy Taylor of Mighty Events told Hazel that the set had looked “absolutely brilliant” and that “the whole tent was full.” She said it was entertaining to watch so many people dancing in sync — and asked if Hazel could come back the following year.
For us, an invitation to return is about as good a recommendation as you can get.
Line Dancing on a festival scale
Line Dancing is wonderfully adaptable. Hazel can teach a small private group, provide an activity at a wedding or party, or stand on a festival stage and get a large crowd moving together. Dubs int Dales was a particularly good example of the latter.
